About Us

Babu's Vineyard is a small, family run vineyard and winery producing award winning white and rose wines. 

The vineyard is planted predominantly with SOLARIS and RONDO vines. The Solaris grapes are used to make the whites and the Rondo grapes the roses. These grape varieties are widely grown in Northern Germany and Southern Denmark and so are ideally suited to the East Anglian climate and terroir.

The name of the vineyard  derives from the Swahili "Babu" which means grandfather and is a family title. Peter Ross, who planted the vineyard, in 2009 became a grandfather in 2004 with the birth of Erin, followed by Joseph and Amelia, and then Edith inheriting the title...hence the vineyards name.
